As we continue to grow our Defence and Policing portfolio, we are seeking experienced Consultants to help our clients tackle some of their most complex transformation challenges. Our work spans operating model transformation, programme delivery, organisational design, change management, digital enablement and service modernisation across policing, central government, security and defence environments.

The Opportunity
Consultants play an important role at Gate One. They lead small workstreams, build trusted client relationships and apply strong consulting skills to deliver meaningful transformation outcomes.
You will take ownership of project deliverables, working alongside client stakeholders and Gate One colleagues to solve challenging problems, contribute to transformation approaches and deliver lasting results.
You will have the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of Defence and Policing clients while developing your experience in large-scale public sector transformation and contributing to our presence in this strategically important market.
You Will
Deliver Transformation Programmes
Lead small workstreams within major transformation programmes across defence, policing and wider public sector organisations, while contributing to the wider engagement.
Structure and deliver analysis, support the design of solutions and produce high-quality client deliverables.
Help clients define and implement operating models, governance structures, organisational change and programme delivery approaches.
Support transformation initiatives spanning people, process, technology and culture.
Develop trusted relationships with client stakeholders, building confidence through the delivery of your workstream.
Keep engagement leads regularly updated on delivery across your workstreams.
Operate autonomously with moderate oversight, while collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary client and consulting teams.
Produce clear, concise and well-structured outputs to a consistently high standard.
Proactively seek feedback and take personal accountability for your development.
Enable clients to achieve pragmatic, measurable and sustainable transformation outcomes.
Support Business Development and Account Growth
Engage in business development across the Defence and Policing sector and relevant client accounts, working alongside senior colleagues to develop your experience.
Contribute to proposals, bids, credentials and go-to-market activities.
Proactively develop high-quality case studies and credentials that can be used as business development collateral.
Help shape sector propositions, research, thought leadership and blogs.
Build a network with clients, creating lasting relationships and identifying potential opportunities.
Participate in client discussions and support senior colleagues in progressing opportunities into new engagements.
Help Build Gate One
Contribute to internal capability development, proposition development, knowledge sharing and innovation initiatives.
Contribute to recruitment activities, training content, team events and Gate One communities.
Work alongside colleagues to make a meaningful contribution to priority initiatives.
Actively contribute to our entrepreneurial and collaborative culture.
Take personal accountability for your career development and continuously seek feedback from engagement leads.

About You
You will bring experience gained within a management consulting environment alongside experience delivering transformation within Defence, Policing, or wider Public Sector organisations.
We welcome candidates who have developed their experience through a combination of consulting and industry roles. However, applicants must demonstrate sufficient consulting experience to operate successfully at Consultant level.
You Will Also Bring
A few years’ management consulting experience, ideally within a leading consulting firm or specialist transformation consultancy.
Experience supporting or delivering transformation programmes within Defence, Policing, or wider public sector environments.
Experience in one or more transformation disciplines, including:
Change management and adoption
Operating model design and implementation
Digital transformation
Programme and project delivery
Service transformation
Process improvement
Business readiness and mobilisation
Experience owning small workstreams or defined areas of delivery with moderate oversight.
The ability to produce clear, concise and high-quality project outputs and client deliverables.
The ability to build trusted working relationships with client stakeholders and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
Strong communication, facilitation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Curiosity, adaptability and a passion for delivering meaningful change.
A proactive approach to learning, feedback and personal development.
An interest in contributing to business development, account development, bids and sector growth activities.
